Paper PLODs that arrive late, or not at all
Shifts get scanned, emailed, re-keyed into Excel by an admin the next morning — when the field is already two shifts ahead. Lost sheets, illegible handwriting, 24–72 hour data lag.
Drilling Management Software
The record of every meter.
From quoted program to invoiced meters — Drill Logs models drilling the way the field actually runs it: locations, programs, holes, shifts, bits, and crews.
Free for one rig and a five-person crew. No credit card. Works offline.
Built for diamond and RC drilling. PQ3, HQ3, NQ, RC, Air Core, Auger, RAB.

For drilling contractors
Multi-rig, multi-customer, multi-program. Quote scope, schedule crews, run shifts, and invoice on the meters you actually drilled.

Production and exploration drilling for your own mine site. Real-time rig status, crew and consumable tracking, full operations record. No invoicing module.

Drilling teams already know where the meters went — the meters are written down. They're written down on three different surfaces, by four different people, in two different time zones. That's the problem we're built to fix.
Shifts get scanned, emailed, re-keyed into Excel by an admin the next morning — when the field is already two shifts ahead. Lost sheets, illegible handwriting, 24–72 hour data lag.
A rig tracker, a bit-life tracker, a consumables tracker, a crew-hours tracker. None of them agree with each other, and none of them agree with the invoice you send the customer.
Asana, Monday, Smartsheet, Procore — none of them know what a drill hole is, what a bit change costs, or how to bill on completed meters. They model "tasks." You drill meters.
The capabilities
Locations, projects, drilling programs, drill holes, shifts. Surveys with azimuth, inclination, and depth — the actual instrument shots, not a free-text field. Drilling methods and core sizes as first-class data, not tags.
It's the first tool I've used that doesn't ask the geologist to translate drilling into 'tasks.'

Day, night, and afternoon shifts assigned to a rig. Crews as reusable templates, not retyped names. Drill bit and reamer changes captured at depth, with reason and the next bit's serial. Real-time rig status.
Every bit change has a depth, a reason, and a successor. Cost-per-meter stops being a guess.

A drill bit isn't a consumable. A reamer isn't a vehicle. Drill Logs tracks each by type, with location-aware stock, depth-tracked usage, and minimum-stock alerts before the rig runs dry.
We stopped finding out we were out of HQ rods on the night shift.

Assign a customer to a program. Estimate the budget. Schedule crews and rigs against the customer's calendar. Run the shifts. Invoice on the meters that were actually drilled — straight from the field record, with the audit trail attached.
The same record that closes the shift is the record that bills the customer. There's no second system.

Meters drilled
Every meter on the invoice ties back to a shift. Every shift ties back to a hole. Every hole ties back to a quoted program. No reconstructing from email threads.
OFFLINE-FIRST
Native iOS and Android. Phones and tablets. Full offline mode. Built to replace paper PLODs on the pad — not to be a feature behind a login.
Drillers, helpers, and supervisors log shifts, drilling activity, inventory, and tool changes in the app — gloved hands, no signal, sub-zero or 40°C. The data sits on the device until connectivity returns, then syncs to the office automatically. Management sees real meters in real time, not a Monday-morning roll-up of last week's PLODs.
Works without signal.
Offline-first. Every shift, every bit change, every consumable — captured on the device and synced when the rig is back in coverage.
Real-time visibility for ops.
The moment the truck hits camp Wi-Fi, the office dashboard updates. No re-keying, no phone calls, no spreadsheets emailed at 9 a.m.
Tablet and phone, both done right.
Tablet UI for shift entry on the rig deck. Phone UI for the supervisor walking the pad. Same data, same record.
Replaces the paper PLOD.
Not "digitizes" — replaces. The app is the PLOD: depth, bit, reason, crew, hours, consumables, sign-off.

Industries
Production drilling, grade control, and blast-hole work — RC and rotary methods, daily-meter rollups across the fleet, real-time rig status the dispatcher can trust.
Diamond core programs from PQ3 through NQ2. Hole surveys with azimuth, inclination, and depth. Core recovery, core loss, and bit life tracked at the meter — junior explorers and mid-tier producers, same record.
Geotechnical and water-well crews use Drill Logs for shift records, crew tracking, and consumables. Construction-specific borehole logging is on the roadmap; talk to us about your workflow.
Pricing
No locked-down trial. No "contact sales for the small print." A real free tier for the small contractor and a clear upgrade path when you grow.
Free forever
One rig, up to five people on the crew
For multi-rig contractors who bill customers

Pricing in USD. Pay in CAD, AUD, or EUR on annual contracts. Pro pricing is finalized during your first call — we won't quote a number we can't honor.
Built by drilling people
Drill Logs is built by a team that has spent years on the data side of drilling — drilling programs, hole surveys, bit lifecycle, consumable tracking. We didn't bend a generic project tool into a drilling shape. We started from the drill hole and worked outward.
If the data model doesn't match how you actually run the rig, tell us. We'll fix it. That's the whole reason we built this.
FAQ
Yes — one drill rig, up to five users, no time limit, no credit card. The free tier includes drill holes, surveys, shifts, crews, drill bit tracking, inventory, the mobile app, and standard reporting. When you add a second rig or need customer management, budgeting, scheduling, or invoicing, you move to Pro.
Drillers, helpers, and supervisors log shifts, bit changes, consumable usage, and tool changes directly on the device. The app stores everything locally. When the rig comes back into coverage — camp Wi-Fi, cellular, or starlink — the app syncs automatically and the office dashboard updates in real time. Nothing gets lost. Nothing waits for a Monday-morning re-key.
No. About half our users are in-house drilling teams at mining companies — running production or exploration rigs for their own operation. They use the operations record, crew and rig tracking, inventory, and reporting. They don't use the customer management or invoicing modules, and they don't pay for them.
No. Your existing PLOD fields map onto the shift record almost one-to-one: depth, activity, bit, reason, crew, hours, consumables, sign-off. The mobile app is laid out the way a paper PLOD reads, on purpose. Crews who can fill a paper PLOD can fill a Drill Logs shift. Most teams are running real shifts in the app inside the first week.
Yes. CSV import is built in for drilling programs and drill holes — common starting points when you're switching from a workbook. For larger migrations from another platform, we'll do the mapping with you on a working call.
Diamond and RC, with all the standard core sizes: PQ3, PQWL, HQ3, HQWL, NQ3, NQ2, NQ Coring. Plus RC Drilling, Air Core, RAB, Auger, and Casing Ops. Drilling method and core size are first-class fields on the drill hole, not free-text tags — so reports filter properly and bit life is tracked per method.
Most teams are running their first real shift in the app within a week. Free-tier sign-up is self-serve. Pro and Enterprise teams get a guided setup — locations, programs, rigs, crews, activity types, inventory — typically completed in five to ten working days. We don't quote eight to ten weeks.
Your data is yours. Drill Logs runs on managed infrastructure with daily backups; you can export your full record at any time, in CSV or JSON, with no gates. We don't sell or share customer data. Enterprise customers can request specific data residency (Canada, EU, Australia).
English and French at launch — the app, the documentation, and the support team are bilingual. French is fully native, not machine-translated, with proper drilling vocabulary (sondage, foration, programme de forage). Spanish is on the roadmap for Latin American markets if traction follows.
Most teams cut over one rig at a time. Print one last paper PLOD as a backup, run the next shift in the app, compare the two at end-of-shift. After three or four shifts the paper stops getting filled in — because the digital record is already done. We'll help you plan the cut-over on the demo call.
